Govardhan Puja, also known as Annakut or Annakoot ("mountain of food"), is a Hindu festival where devotees worship Govardhan Hill and offer a variety of vegetarian foods to Lord Krishna in gratitude. For Vaishnavas, it commemorates Krishna lifting Govardhan Hill to protect the people of Vrindavan, symbolizing divine protection for those who take refuge in Him. The festival is celebrated by Hindus across India and abroad.

For Vaishnavas, it is one of the important festivals. The Annakut festival occurs on the first lunar day of the Shukla Paksha (bright fortnight) in the month of Kartik, which is the day after Diwali, the Hindu festival of lights.
